Franklin is a suburb of Gungahlin, less than twenty minutes north of the city. It is a newer suburb of Canberra with modern houses and more being built. Located in the heart of the area is the new Franklin Recreational Park – so new that they are still growing in the trees and grass surrounding it. According to the notices around the playground the grassy reserve will be open late 2015, however the extensive and colourful playground is now available for play.

The Recreational Park in Franklin is an impressive playground for all ages. New playgrounds are getting so much more creative these days with fun additions and surprises at every turn. There is toilet facilities, shade, bubblers, BBQ’s – all the facilities every family needs.

We wish this was our local park, however even if you don’t live close by it is definitively worth the drive to this new and modern playground.
