Apart from this, the land area of this region covers 8.9 km2 and the suburbs, which are surrounded by this region are Noble Park North, Keysborough, Dandenong North, Endeavourhills and Doveton.
Dandenong experiences a mild and wet climate throughout the year. The place gets abundant rainfall throughout the year, except the months January and February where only lower rainfall obtained. The average recorded rainfall in a year is around 1175 mm, in which the month May gets the most precipitation. However, the region has experienced substantial warming in the recent years where the temperature hovers around 15 degrees Celsius.
