Ballarat has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Apart from that, the city experiences a cyclic drought and abundant rainfall. A sparse Snowfall prevalently falls at least once in a year, and extensive frosts and fogs are more common during the breezy months. Sometimes, the floods devastate a few places in Ballarat due to the heavy down pours in Yarrowee catchment.
The city has some exceptional tourist spots such as Ballarat Botanical gardens, Ballarat- skipton rail trail, Lake wendouree, Kryal castle, Sovereign hill, Yarra river, Sturt street gardens, Lake Burrumbeet etc.
The city also has easier access to bus services and the motor vehicle is considered as the main form of transport. Moreover, the city has historically been a foremost railway hub in Victoria, and it has several links for both the passenger trains and freight carrying trains.
